The Journey Is the purpose

I have spent the majority of my life trying to figure out what's next, the next move, the next job, the next side hustle. Always wondering if I know my purpose, am I doing what I am supposed to be doing. What was I meant to do with my life? Somehow, I got the message that a life of purpose meant something big with a big impact. I always thought that purpose was about what was external, what I accomplished, what I did. That gets to be exhausting. Always performing, reaching, striving and questioning. I finally figured out that life itself is the purpose. The internal transformation that takes place in my spirit as I experience the journey of my life....this is purpose. The highs, the lows, the grief, the joy. Watching my children grow and become unique and glorious individuals, experiencing deep and meaningful connections with my cherished friends....this is purpose. Moments of reflection, gratitude, peace, growth, authenticity and integrity. What then is the impact? I heard a message in my spirit a long time ago "your impact is with your circle of influence". It took me a while to figure it out. Some of us have a large circle of influence and lead movements, hold public office, organize community. Some of us, have a smaller but no less important circle of influence of friends, family, colleagues, divine encounters. The journey itself is the purpose. Each experience transforms us and prepares us for the next leg of the journey.
